4 Signs It’s Time to Invest in Branding Services

Your brand is what sets you apart from other businesses. It represents your company’s style, your voice, and vibe. It is also usually the first impression someone gets of your business and helps answer the question as to whether or not your company fits their values and can be something they can identify with. Branding establishes trust with your clients by displaying visual continuity throughout your products and services. Branding includes your logos, colors, how you answer the phone, images you share on social media, responses to your messages, and everything else in between. Your brand enables your company to be easily recognizable during each encounter with a customer or potential customer so you stand out from your competition. If you have an inconsistent brand, it creates inconsistent experiences which can become problematic for your business. No one wants their brand, or lack thereof, to create issues so if these four signs seem like you, it’s time to invest in branding services.

1. You’re presenting conflicting visual information

Lack of harmony in your visual products is the most common inconsistency we see out there. Your logo, colors, typography, videos, and color scheme encompass much of your visual information. Not giving your clients predictable visual branding often creates confusion and distrust. Did you know it takes 5 to 7 exposures to make an impression on someone? Brand recognition occurs over time so it’s important to expose potential clients to a consistent visual style, numerous times, to be successful.

2. You’re giving off multiple vibes

Your vibe and values are also other important components to keep consistent. Who has the time to keep up with multiple personalities these days? Maybe you are aiming for a more serious feel, or perhaps you enjoy making your clients laugh. Either way, your vibe needs to stay the same across all your channels.  No matter the personality you choose it’s extremely important, especially on social media, to make sure your clients get to know the same personality every time they have contact.

3. You’re addicted to trends

Like most things, maintaining timeless branding is key to success. Constantly changing your look and feel, just because you see something that looks “cool”, isn’t the best idea. This leads to more confusion not just externally, but also internally. You can’t expect your employees to change all your marketing materials on a whim or your audience to recognize multiple branding campaigns.

4. You’re not attracting your ideal clients

You know that old saying ‘You can’t please everyone’? Well, the same is true in branding. Communicating with a targeted demographic also helps improve your branding and the engagement you get from that audience. Stop casting your net so wide. Discovering your ideal client helps determine not only what kind of branding will be most effective, but also the channels you should connect with. Maybe you have a specific gender, age, income level, or niche population you want your branding to appeal to. Your business is likely to be more successful by singling out specific traits you want in your audience. Find out things like where they spend their time, what organizations they are typically part of, what their values are, where they shop, what languages they speak, what social media channels they use, and what their hobbies are. Once you know exactly who you’re marketing to, you can zero in on what to spend your time and money on.
